The New Year is a time when it’s not uncommon to take stock of your health, set some goals and take action to lose weight, have more energy or attend to their back, neck or disc problem. Sometimes it is the promise of a new lifestyle for a new year that provides this motivation, but other times the impetus is holiday-fueled overeating.

One habit that I’ve formed around this holiday season that may be helpful is to exercise for an hour each day. Try walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, just moving, anything at all to help offset the extra calories consumed during the winter feasts. You will become more energetic and the increased activity can help curb your appetite as more sugar will enter you cells to make you feel full.

3 Easy Holiday Health Hints:

1. Walk 30-60 minutes each day. Consider going for a family walk or go caroling.

2. Be sure you eat clean proteins like fish and poultry and avoid too many carbohydrates.

3. Count you blessings and it does a body good.
